From flexible electronics projects to ecosystem
Over 40 participants came to Prague on 11th December 2019 to take part in the Workshop on APPLICATIONS AND INDUSTRIALISATION WITH FLEXIBLE ELECTRONICS. The event was organized in the framework of the InSCOPE and SmartEEs projects with the objective of presenting the InSCOPE project results and informing the public about the opportunities offered by the flexible electronics community.
The workshop was opened by Rudolf Frycek, CEO of AMIRES, and Corne Rentrop, the coordinator of the InSCOPE project. During the first session, participants were able to hear more about the four partners of the InSCOPE project – Bosch, Signify, KONE and GSK – and their experiences and results obtained during the 3-year project implementation. Matthias Mahlich, Peter Bancken, Rasmus Lonnqvist and Panagiota Tsapuornioti gave some interesting insights into the printed electronics applications in automotive, smart buildings and medical packages.
The second session was dedicated to examples of flexible electronics in the health, packaging/logistics and building sectors, which were realized through a development case of the Dutch company UNITRON supported by the InSCOPE project as presented by Pieter de Wilde, and thought SmartEEs application experiments of innovative companies – Small Data Garden, Esyst and 3DMA which were represented by Timo Liukko, Jaroslav Sochor, and Robert Fuhrmann respectively. Representatives of large volume manufacturers, Kari Ronka and Marek Ramski from Flexbright and OledWorks shared their developments and ideas with flexible electronics technologies.
Finally, Rudolf Frycek informed the participants about the future opportunities / benefits and EU support for SMEs and Mid-caps.
With the motivation from speakers, a chance to interact with key industry stakeholders, and touch and feel the displayed demonstrators, it was truly an event to remember. Stay tunes for next events and we hope to see you there!
